So Grateful to Be a Facilitator

Nadine

I am so grateful for this opportunity to be a facilitator with Living Waters of Hope. God is doing amazing works of healing and bringing hope to women one class at a time.

Instructor(s)

Founder/Executive Director of LWOH

Diane Schnickels

Diane is the founder and Executive Director of Living Waters of Hope as well as the author of the Oasis Bible Study. She is a Certified Counselor and a Certified Domestic Abuse Advocate. Facilitating these classes is an honor and privilege as she walks with women on their journey to restore their hope and dignity. Her heart for our wounded sisters comes from living through the trials her own daughter faced in a domestically abusive relationship thirteen years ago. As Diane learned more about domestic abuse and walked with more women, she was shocked at the prevalence of domestic abuse in the faith community. The lack of faith-based resources was just as surprising. Long story short, she felt God calling her to begin writing the Oasis Bible Study and training the faith community to help more women find the resources and support they so desperately needed. Diane has been married to Ray forty years and has been in a variety of ministries prior to founding Living Waters of Hope. She enjoys being a mom and mema!

Oasis Facilitator

Karen Fahsholz

It is Karen’s delight and privilege to be a facilitator of two Oasis Bible Study groups and to walk with our precious, courageous sisters on their own healing journeys. She has been leading women’s Bible studies for many years and enjoyed her role as the Women’s Ministry Director at Canby Alliance Church for 7 years. She holds a master’s degree in counseling and had worked as a school counselor. Prior to that she taught in public and private schools for seventeen years with her bachelor’s degree in elementary education. As a Women’s Ministry Director, Karen first became acquainted with Diane Schnickels and Living Waters of Hope to have a deeper understanding of domestic abuse to be better equipped to help the women she was serving. What began as a learning experience turned into a life changing event. As she learned about domestic abuse, she learned that the man she was married to for 42 years was not just difficult to live with, he was verbally, emotionally, and sexually abusive to her. Without the help of Diane and the Oasis Bible study she would not have understood why this marriage was so difficult, nor found the support to make the difficult decisions that she needed to make to separate from her husband and to find mental, emotional and spiritual healing and a new way of living. Karen is the mother of 3 amazing adult children and the grandmother of 3 extraordinary grandchildren.

I am very grateful to be an Oasis bible study alumni. Going through the Oasis bible studies has helped me progress in my healing journey. The studies challenge me to continue learning about relationship principles in God’s Word and to apply them in my life. I have made very precious friendships with the women in the studies, who understand, support, encourage and challenge me to learn and walk in truth. I was married for 38 years. I divorced in 2020. I have four wonderful adult children, a great son-in-law and one grandson. I am blessed! I have been involved with many forms of women’s ministry through the years and am currently working as an administrative assistant at a local church.
